Group Field Trips

Our mission is education, and we invite your group to enjoy a back-to-reality learning experience that is real, live and engaging.

From beautiful natural science exhibits to exciting educational programs and the immersive James H. Lynn Planetarium and Science Theater, your group will enjoy learning experiences that fascinate and inspire while supporting the important lessons for their education.

Enjoy this hands-on activity out on our Nature Trail at our Grist Mill! Search for rare beauties in this sluice activity and keep what you find! If you need help, staff are on hand to help identify materials.

Weather permitting.  Each participant requires a ticket.

Take a trip to our outdoor exhibit to meet the animals that call the farm home.  Goats, sheep, chickens, alpacas and more will be excited to meet your group!  Enjoy a talk by farm animal keepers and participate in a special feeding activity with some of our Farm Friends.

Meet the animals of the Schiele Museum.  Enjoy a show-and-tell or feeding demonstration by animal keepers featuring favorite live animal ambassadors from the museum’s collection.  Keeper Talks feature a different live animal experience each day of the week.

The Schiele Museum’s education programs address critical standards for public education. For specific curriculum standards met by our programs, questions or reserve a field trip or outreach, please contact our Group Scheduling Coordinator, Stephanie Austin, at  stephaniea@cityofgastonia.com.
