FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Have a question about Summer Camps at The Schiele? Start here!
Planned camp activities begin at 9 AM and end at 4 PM. You may drop off your child as early as 7:30 AM and pick up as late as 5:30 PM. Please note: parents will be charged a $1.00 per minute fee past the 5:30 pm check out time for each child that is not checked out.
If you need to drop off or pick up between 9 AM and 4 PM, please report to the Curiosity Lab. If we are on site, a staff member can help you locate your child.
Check in/check out will take place at the main entrance of the museum. Safety is a priority! All children must be checked in and checked out by a parent or authorized adult each day throughout Summer Camp. Any authorized adult eligible to pick up should be listed on the registration form and must present identification for the child to be released.
Campers must bring their own lunches every day to camp. Please make sure each lunch box/bag is clearly labeled with the camper’s name and include a reusable water bottle. Unfortunately, lunches cannot be refrigerated at the museum and microwaves are not available for camper use.
Two snacks are provided each day for campers, morning and afternoon. Parents may supply a snack for their child.
Campers should bring a backpack with spray sunscreen, bug spray, refillable water bottle, lunch, an extra change of clothes, towel, and any prescribed medications that have been registered.
Campers should NOT bring any toys, hand held video games or other gadgets from home. The Schiele Museum is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or broken items. Electronics are NOT ALLOWED at camp.
A sick child cannot participate in camp in a meaningful way. A camper should stay home when experiencing a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, lice, or conjunctivitis. He/she can return to Summer Camp after exhibiting no symptoms for at least 24 hours. Keeping campers at home when they are sick protects other children and staff from exposure to illness.
If your child has a chronic medical condition or allergy, please notify Schiele staff in advance of your Summer Camp start date and complete the applicable form linked below. Please note that some of the forms must be completed by a physician.
A good portion of a camper’s day may be spent outside. Campers should prepare by bringing sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and a reusable water bottle.
Staff watch weather reports and keep up to date on heat advisories. Activities may change based on the weather, and may or may not be rescheduled depending on the activity.
Download the REMIND app to get day-to-day reminders and participate in two-way communication with counselors. (This is the best way to reach staff during the day.)
Campers will go on at least one field trip each week. Please check the weekly schedule for specific trips and their requirements. Groups travel in 15-passenger vans.
Unfortunately, there are no refunds available for summer camps.
