Free Tuesday takes place from 4 - 8 PM on the SECOND Tuesday of each month and offers free general museum admission to all visitors during this time. In an effort to ensure access for the community to The Schiele Museum's exhibits and educational resources, Duke Energy has sponsored the Free Tuesday program through 2020!
From 4 PM - 8 PM, general admission to The Schiele Museum will be free of charge on the second Tuesday of each month.
Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the museum is currently closed.
Please note: planetarium programs will be available for purchase ($5 per person) at 5 PM and 6 PM on these evenings.
Getting Here & Parking
The museum is located at 1500 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054. Click here for driving directions.
The Schiele's parking lot is located near the entrance of the museum and is free for visitors. Additional parking is located at the "green lot" on Garrison Blvd., just past the museum towards downtown. The museum's lots are highlighted in orange on the map below. Due to an increased number of visitors on Free Tuesday, carpooling is encouraged.
Duke Energy began sponsoring Free Tuesday in 2012 and has helped The Schiele provide exceptional educational and cultural resources to thousands of visitors and their families over the past seven years. The Schiele extends its hours until 8 PM on these evenings, allowing the community additional time to explore exhibits. Duke Energy’s sponsorship of Free Tuesday is a wonderful opportunity for the community to enjoy the museum.
