2024 Summer Camps for Rising 5th & 6th Graders

Camps are designed for children who have completed 4th or 5th grade. They must be entering 5th or 6th grade in order to participate.

Summer camp at The Schiele Museum is an exciting opportunity to explore science and the natural world. Campers can look forward to hands-on activities and a variety of learning experiences within the museum, outdoors on the Nature Trail, and on carefully selected trips in the local community. 


Organized activities: 9 AM – 4 PM.

(Drop-off begins at 7:30 and ends at 5:30.)

Summer Camp Weekly Fees:

$225 General Public

Registration opens to the general public on Monday, March 4 if space is still available.

From towering dinosaurs to microscopic creatures, dig into the fascinating world of fossils through hands-on activities, exciting games, and creative crafts.

June 24-28

Humans have “read” the night sky throughout all of history. Want to learn how? Journey across the universe to search for the stories hidden in the sky, then create your own.

Engineers in Training

July 1-5*

Build bridges that withstand weight challenges. Construct a maze built for a robotic bug. Learn teamwork, problem-solving, and a love for all things engineering.

Discover the stories that inspired kings, princesses, and Vikings in Egypt, Greece, and Scandinavia. Explore folklore, and create a myth that features YOU!

Can you win a staring contest with a snake? Or camouflage like a chameleon? Explore the wonderful world of reptiles through close encounters, nature hikes, and behind-the-scenes tours.

Oh no! There’s been a crime at the museum! We need detectives to help solve the case. Learn how to observe crime scenes, find evidence, uncover fingerprints, and identify suspects!

Do you have what it takes to be a zookeeper? Find out when you spend the week with the Schiele’s Animal Ambassadors. Learn how to feed, clean, and care for our critters.
