2024 Summer Camps for Rising 3rd & 4th Graders

Camps are designed for children who have completed 2nd or 3rd grade. They must be entering 3rd or 4th grade in order to participate.

Summer camp at The Schiele Museum is an exciting opportunity to explore science and the natural world. Campers can look forward to hands-on activities and a variety of learning experiences within the museum, outdoors on the Nature Trail, and on carefully selected trips in the local community. 


Organized activities: 9 AM – 4 PM.

(Drop-off begins at 7:30 and ends at 5:30.)

From erupting volcanoes to dazzling chemical reactions, your days will be filled with awesome experiments designed to engage and inspire budding scientists.

Can you win a staring contest with a snake? Or camouflage like a chameleon? Explore the wonderful world of reptiles through close encounters, nature hikes, and behind-the-scenes tours.

Fossil Hunters

From towering dinosaurs to microscopic creatures, dig into the fascinating world of fossils through hands-on activities, exciting games, and creative crafts.

Oh no! There’s been a crime at the museum! We need detectives to help solve the case. Learn how to observe crime scenes, find evidence, uncover fingerprints, and identify suspects!

July 22-26

Do you have what it takes to be a zookeeper? Find out when you spend the week with the Schiele’s Animal Ambassadors. Learn how to feed, clean, and care for our critters.

Engineers in Training

July 29-August 2

Build bridges that withstand weight challenges. Construct a maze built for a robotic bug. Learn teamwork, problem-solving, and a love for all things engineering.

Myths, Lore, & Legends

August 5-9

Discover the stories that inspired kings, princesses, and Vikings in Egypt, Greece, and Scandinavia. Explore folklore, and create a myth that features YOU!
