From flying to trees, searching on the ground or floating in bodies of water, birds are everywhere! Watch, learn about, count, and celebrate birds during the NC Bird Count with The Schiele!

Join local bird enthusiasts Dr. Steven Tracy and Steve D’Avria on a guided birding trip to Rankin Lake Park! Explore avian biodiversity in our community as citizen scientists to help real research projects using the iNaturalist app. iNaturalist is a social network of naturalists, citizen scientists, and biologists built on the concept of mapping and sharing observations of biodiversity across the globe.

The guided walks around the park begin at 8 A.M. and 10 A.M. on February 19th at Rankin Lake Park.

Participants can check-in at Shelter 10.

Participants will need to provide their own binoculars and meet at Rankin Lake Park.

Although this event is free, participants will need to register online as the guided walking tours have limited space.

The last day to register is on February 18th at noon!
