Meet Obi the Eastern Kingsnake!

Obi_the_Eastern_King_Snake.jpg

Obi is an Eastern Kingsnake. His species is found in the Eastern United States. Obi is roughly 7 years old and his diet consists of rodents.

Obi arrived at The Schiele in January 2015 after locals discovered him in their garage and donated him. Obi suffers from scale damage that the animal care staff treats by spraying 2% Chlorohexidine in a temporary habitat. They place Obi in the habitat to slither around for 10 minutes, then remove him. This helps prevent scale rot and generic scale issues.

You can find Obi on display in the Hall of North American Wildlife .
