Join us in the planetarium each week for Friday Night Lights, where you can enjoy a special evening presentation under the dome! We offer a new program each week, ranging from live shows about the local night sky to feature presentations.
Earth, Moon & Sun
Friday, January 29 at 5, 6, & 7 PM
This planetarium show explores the relationship between Earth, Moon and Sun with the help of Coyote, an amusing character adapted from Native American oral traditions. Coyote has many misconceptions about our home planet and its most familiar neighbors. His confusion about the universe makes viewers think about how Earth, Moon and Sun work together as a system and learn to distinguish between myths and science.
Learn the basics of fusion and solar energy and why the Sun rises and sets. Examine the Moon’s orbit, craters, phases and eclipses. You’ll even take a look at past and future space travel to our Moon … and beyond!
Planetarium Program Tickets:
- Adult: 19 years + ($8)
- Youth: 4 - 18 years ($8)
- Child: 3 and under (free)
Tickets for Schiele Members are $5 pp ages 4 years & up. Member planetarium passes are not eligible for use for these evening programs.
Shows begin promptly at their scheduled time. All programs are subject to change without notice. While we make every effort to present the shows as listed on our website and in our events calendar, we may need to substitute shows.
