Fun educational programs for you and your family!

 Each week, The Schiele Museum will offer a variety of themed programs that will inspire curiosity about science and the world around you!

Safety

All participants in our Educational Adventures programs will be required to wear a mask and practice safe, social distancing during the program and while they're visiting the site.  As recommended by health officials, we also recommend you maintain a 6' distance between yourself and others and wash your hands as often as possible.

Tuesday, September 15

10 AM & 12:30 PM   

Animal Encounters:  Amphibians

Discover the natural history of frogs, toads, salamanders and more.

10:30 AM

Early Explorers:  Dinosaurs

Sing songs, read stories and create crafts all while learning about nature, letters, colors and numbers.  Especially for visitors ages 2 to 5.

11 AM & 1:30 PM   

Frog Dissection

Work with a partner to dissect specimens and learn about their adaptations, identify organs, and discover their functions.

 

Wednesday, September 16

10 AM & 12:30 PM   

Dirt Made My Lunch

Learn about the components of healthy soil and discover how it produces the food we eat.

11 AM & 1:30 PM   

Animal Olympians

Meet live animals and learn about some of the exciting superpowers (adaptations) that help them survive.

The Woodland Indians

Visit the Catawba Indian Village to explore the fascinating ways people found food, clothing and shelter in the wilderness.

Matter & Energy

Enjoy cool demonstrations that illustrate the relationship between matter and energy.

This program is geared for younger audiences (ages 3 to 8).

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Each person will require a ticket.

Fees

Unless otherwise noted, all Educational Adventure programs will have the following fee structure.

  • Schiele Members: $5, ages 3+
  • Non-Members: $7, ages 3+

These fees help to off-set the costs for museum operations from caring for the live-animals, program materials, and staff. Fee includes admission to Education program and access to the Farm.
