We're Building Excitement!
The Schiele is undergoing some construction this spring:
- The Hall of North Carolina Natural History is getting an update! Mark your calendar for the opening of the new snake habitat during Reptile and Amphibian Day on May 18, 2024. You may experience intermittent closures of this space during your visit in February or March.
- We’ve made changes to The Hall of North American Wildlife in preparation for the new Hall of Dinosaurs, slated to open in 2025. Get the details.
- The Schiele is digging into a landscape makeover around the front entrance. Watch for a new retaining wall, a wider sidewalk, and more beautiful plants in the months to come.
We’re open during construction!
Most museum exhibits, The Farm, the Nature Trail, and the planetarium are open, available, and fun for the whole family.
Thank you for your patience. For regular updates, bookmark this page or follow The Schiele on social media.
